Some information about BRICK:
Naomi, a black school teacher, has been fired by the controversial school chancellor Michelle Rhee. Tensions explode between Naomi, her brother Ben and her boyfriend Kyle over revenge plans against Rhee, set in the troubled public school system of Washington D.C.
I’m very excited because I am a big fan of two of the newest performers to have joined the project John-Andrew Morrison (will read Kyle) and Jennifer Lim (will read Michelle Rhee).
I met John-Andrew while he was an MFA candidate in acting at UCSD, and Jennifer and I share performance experience with the writer/director Young Jean Lee (Jennifer toured extensively with Lee’s Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven). I will be reading as Ben, the little brother too Richarda Abrams’ Naomi. I haven’t worked with Richarda before and from the looks of her resume I’m very excited to see her in action.
Come out and see this well written and provocative new show read by some seriously talented performers. Support the theatre, y’all!
