And the dance marathon continues!
I’m heading back into the studio at The JoyceSoho for another workshop with Anne Kauffman and Doug Elkins March 26 – April 6, 2012.
I’m happy to get back into the studio and do some dancing. This project has been developing since March of 2011 and I am excited to see how the time off has encouraged the ideas to grow in new, unforeseen, directions.
A little more information about the Artist In Residency program at the Joyce Soho is below.
Doug Elkins and Anne Kauffman team up to explore the process of collaborating as a theater director and choreographer through three topics of current obsession: Gleaning, Tourettes and Monogamy. Working with a collection of dancers, actors and other performers, they will focus on one topic a week over a period of several week-long sessions to discover how or if these three disparate obsessions overlap. Curious about what it means to collaborate with each other, Doug and Anne hope that the investigation of their mutual fascinations will yield a method of creating together.
The Joyce Soho Residency program is made possible by funding from The Joyce Theater Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation’s NYC Cultural Innovation Fund. A premiere date for material generated during the residency is open-ended.
